Website email sign-ups · For Mike and Nick
Website email sign-ups more than doubled in the week of 12 October, and the new guidebook pop-ups are ready to grow them more
Sign-ups went from 5 to 12 in a week, and the new pop-up works better than its first numbers showed. Two pop-ups offering our free guidebook are built and waiting.
What it could be worth
$100 to $2,300 a month in welcome-email sales, from the day the pop-ups go on
That's if you and Nick approve the guidebook and the pop-ups today, Wed 21 Oct, so they go live today, with each month's sales spread evenly from then.
Every sign-up gets our welcome emails, which are already live and selling. Claude counts each new sign-up as about $5 of welcome-email sales, a cautious figure from Klaviyo's numbers.
Low end, $100 a month: about 19 more sign-ups a month, if 1 more in every 100 people who see the pop-up signs up (on about 2,000 views a month).
High end, $2,300 a month: about 460 sign-ups a month, if 1 in 100 of our 46,000 monthly site visitors signs up. Today it's about 1 in 1,000.
The good news
Sign-ups are climbing back
Real website sign-ups a week (Monday to Sunday, our own test sign-ups left out)
Most of the 17 real sign-ups since the new website opened came from the home page (7) and the BROQ product page (5).
A closer look
The real sign-up rate is better than it looked
At first the new pop-up looked weak: 1.9% of people who see it sign up, against 5.6% on the old pop-up. Part of that was us.
- On 8 October the pop-up was seen 282 times, against about 40 on a normal day: our own automated site testing. Those 240 or so extra views brought no sign-ups.
- Leave them out and about 3 in every 100 people who see the new pop-up sign up (17 of about 550 since the new website opened on 5 October). That's a little above the typical store on Klaviyo, our email system (2.85 in 100).
- Most of the rest of the gap: since 13 October the pop-up also shows to people who come from our Meta ads to the "top 5 supplements" article, with 172 views and no sign-ups yet. The guidebook pop-up is built for exactly those visitors.
Built and waiting
Two guidebook pop-ups, one for the main site and one for the ad landing pages
Both offer our free guidebook, a gift for signing up with an email.
The main website
15% off plus the free guidebook.
The ad landing pages (new)
Built and tested: the free guidebook, with a welcome email matched to each ad's message. Most of these pages have no sign-up box today.
What happens next
Once the guidebook's approved, both pop-ups go on the same day
Our email team switches the pop-ups on, and our site team turns off the setting that keeps pop-ups off the bundle pages (BROQ, NMN-99 and SPMD-99 sold together).
We check that sign-ups go through on phone and computer before telling you it's live.
